12 Ski Areas in just one convenient pass

Beautiful Snow-Covered Mountains, Slopes for Everyone

The Muttereralm and other ski areas part of the ski plus city card rank among the best winter sports destinations in the Alps. Around Mutters, there are 8 ski areas with a total of 300 kilometers of slopes, all easily accessible with a free ski bus that stops right in front of the hotel.

Muttereralm – Small but Exquisite

The Muttereralm lift station is within walking distance from the hotel, even with ski equipment. The most comfortable way to get there, however, is by taking the free ski bus, which departs directly from the hotel entrance.

The gentle valley run from the mountain down to the village is perfect for beginners. More experienced skiers can enjoy a long red run to the neighboring village of Götzens, or take on the steep Pfriemesköpfl run further up the hill.

The Muttereralm may be a small ski area, but it offers pure skiing pleasure for both beginners and pros. You can look forward to 19 kilometers of perfectly groomed slopes with 100% snow reliability.

Skiing Variety All Around

In addition to the Muttereralm – only a few minutes from the hotel – there are many more ski areas nearby, ensuring plenty of variety during your stay. The eight ski areas in the surrounding communities include:

Dreamy Slopes with Kalkkögel Backdrop – Axamer Lizum

Axamer Lizum is one of Innsbruck’s most popular ski resorts – loved by young and old, locals and visitors, students and families alike. Once the venue for the 1964 and 1976 Olympic Games, it still attracts piste and powder enthusiasts today.

The "Lizum" (as locals call it) is ideal for those who enjoy slopes that blend beautifully into the alpine landscape and offer a mix of steep and gentle sections. The resort features 40 kilometers of pistes and can be reached by free ski bus or by car in 15 minutes.

Plenty of Blue Runs on the Other Side of the Kalkkögel – Schlick 2000

The Schlick 2000 ski area is also only about 15 minutes from Mutters by car, or easily reachable via the free ski bus. Skiers who prefer gentler blue runs to the steeper slopes of Axamer Lizum will feel right at home here. From this side, you can admire the Kalkkögel peaks as well as enjoy views of the Stubai Alps. Altogether, Schlick 2000 offers 25 kilometers of slopes.

Steep and flowy runs with a View of Innsbruck – Nordkette & Patscherkofel

When fresh snow falls in Tyrol, only the most daring skiers tackle the Nordkette couloirs that descend directly toward Innsbruck. With steep runs, challenging ski routes, and spectacular views over the city, the Nordkette may be small but remains one of Tyrol’s most impressive ski areas.

Directly opposite lies Innsbruck’s other home mountain, the Patscherkofel. This ski area is famous for its Olympic downhill run and loved by young people for its fun park. Both mountains are just 15–20 minutes away by car and are also accessible by public transport.

Endless Kilometers of Slopes on the Glacier – Stubai Glacier

If you’re craving more kilometers of pistes, head to the Stubai Glacier. Located at the far end of the Stubai Valley, this vast ski area stretches across a stunning glacier landscape. The free ski bus also takes you there conveniently.
It’s about a 45-minute drive, but absolutely worth it for the 110 kilometers of slopes.

Sunshine and Snow Guarantee in Kühtai

At 2,000 meters, Kühtai is Tyrol’s highest ski resort, with lifts that climb even higher. Despite the altitude, the resort enjoys plenty of sunshine, especially in spring. The extensive ski area offers 40 kilometers of pistes that can be skied in a scenic circuit. Kühtai is reachable in about 40 minutes by car or via the free ski bus.

Insider Tips Nearby

A true hidden gem is the Glungezer ski area, about 45 minutes from the hotel by car and also reachable by ski bus. With 15 kilometers of slopes, this smaller area offers beautiful runs and a breathtaking view over the Inn Valley.

Another lesser-known spot is Rangger Köpfl, often spared from the crowds. Its gentle, wide, and usually quiet slopes make it ideal for beginners. The area has 17 kilometers of pistes and can be reached by ski bus or car in around 25 minutes
